At EMAS we are dedicated to training actors to the best of their ability. Because we don’t believe you can learn this awesome skill in short workshops, our minimum student commitment is 3 months. Great actors like Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Meryl Streep have invested years studying acting. Most professional actors continue to take classes throughout their careers. That is why we offer beginning, intermediate and advanced level classes, so that wherever you are in your training, you can be challenged and continue to develop as an artist.

Elizabeth created the studio to offer students smaller classes and individualized attention. She saw too many acting schools in Los Angeles with 25, 30 even 40 students in a class. Students were getting up in front of their teachers once, maybe twice a month. The problem with that is - acting is learned by DOING! So she founded EMAS. As the school’s director, she makes it a point to know every member of her studio and be personally involved in guiding his or her studies. Whether you are enrolled in a 12-week Technique class or the 9-month Professional Meisner Program, you will get personalized training and work in
EVERY CLASS!!

Additional Training

In addition to your core-acting curriculum, we offer workshops throughout the year to supplement your acting classes. On-camera technique, Voice, Movement, Auditioning, Commercial Acting, and the Business of Acting classes are taught by some of Hollywood’s top professionals. EMAS feels that this is a great way add to your skill set while making important industry contacts. Some of the people who have come in to work with EMAS students have included:

- Damona Resnick – Casting Director – NBC
- Stu Pollard – Feature Film Director
- Michael Beach – Television Actor (ER, Third Watch)
- Cynthia J. Popp – Television Director/Producer (The Bold and The Beautiful, Frasier)
- Adrianna Porcaro – Talent Coordinator Sony Pictures Television
- Christopher Rich – Television Director and Actor (Reba, Murphy Brown)
- Michael Suscy – Feature Film Director
- Cathy Reinking - Casting Director (Frasier, According to Jim)
- Paul Weber – Independent Casting Director
- Kappy Kilborn – Theatre Director – Pasadena Playhouse
- Paulo Andres – VP The Actor’s Network and Talent Manager
- Chris Game – Commercial Casting Director
- Michael Naughton –Improvisation and Sketch Comedy Actor (Groundlings, Comedy Central)

These workshops are offered exclusively to
EMAS students.

We are here for the beginner looking for guidance as well as for the professional looking for an opportunity to grow and stay sharp. We provide a home for dedicated actors, writers, teachers and directors who desire to stay connected to other artists in the Hollywood Community.
EMAS is more than an acting class, it’s training for you career.
