Scene Study Online Classes

The Online Scene Study class is a fantastic weekly workout for actors with prior training and/or significant professional experience. The class is designed to help actors harness their technique to use towards performance and keep them ready to work at the top of their game. There is a focus on helping develop a consistent creative process that addresses character work, emotional access, imagination and story analysis. Elizabeth creates a challenging yet safe space for actors to explore their craft, hone their unique points of view and empower their artistic voice.

Class size is limited to 10 to allow for students to work every class. The students in the Scene Study class are expected to be prepared for each and every class with a minimum of 3 hours of outside rehearsal between classes.

Attendance:
EMAS understands that actors at this level have busy lives and careers, however Ms. Mestnik requires that this class be a priority. Subsequently, she is very strict about class attendance and work outside of class. Students unable to honor their commitments to their scene partners and/or classmates will be asked to leave the class. Missed classes will require a private make up session at student’s expense. Make-up sessions start at $40 per ½ hour.

Admittance:
Admittance to the EMAS Scene Study class is by invitation OR audition/interview only. The audition will require a short (1-2 minute) contemporary monologue.

This is an ongoing scene study class. Students will work on 1 scene over the course of 4 weeks, and are required to commit to a minimum of two rounds of scenes. A deposit of $175 is taken and will be used as tuition for their last round of scenes. Students must communicate with the studio when they will be using their deposit for their last round of scenes. This allows enough time for us to contact students who are on the wait list and fill the vacated spot in class. Because this class is kept so small to give each student the private attention they require… keeping every spot filled is very important. $175 is due on the first day of each 4 week session.

Class work:
The student has an integral say in the material of the class and will be responsible for working with their partner to select material
